BE A PATRIOT & A PARROT HEAD WITH A JULY 4TH HOLIDAY WEEK DONATION

July 1, 2022

DAYTON, Ohio - It's a Patriotic Parrot Head Party holiday weekend at the Dayton CBC Donation Center. What better way to wave the red, white and blue for your community this Independence Day than by donating blood.

Make an appointment at www.DonorTime.com, call (937) 461-3220, or download the new Donor Time app.

Everyone who registers to donate Friday, July 1, Saturday, July 2, and special 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. hours on Sunday, July 3 at the Dayton CBC will receive a free Speedway $10 gas card and the special-edition "Parrot Head Party - Lei Back and Donate Blood" t-shirt.

"Donating is kind of poetic," Beavercreek donor Josh Jenks said while donating Friday at the Parrot Head Party. "In the bible, blood is the true life and when I give blood, I am able to help others."

The July 4th holiday week is a critical time to give blood because there are fewer blood drives scheduled, people are busy with vacation travel and outdoor activities, and CBC is closed Monday, July 4 for Independence Day.

July 4th is often the busiest day of the year for emergency room visits and CBC must keep regional hospitals in full supply of blood products.

After July 4th, CBC will encourage donations through the holiday week by offering a $10 Speedway gas card and the new "Hit a Double" insulated beverage bottle to everyone who registers to donate Tuesday, July 5 through Saturday July 9 at the Dayton CBC Donation Center.

CBC will host a Ritter's Frozen Custard Bar for donors Friday, July 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dayton CBC.

July 3 is the final day to enter the drawing for a pair of Jimmy Buffett concert tickets by registering to donate at any CBC blood drive or the CBC Donation Center. The concert is July 21 at Riverbend.
