DAYTON, Ohio - If you're not in the game for the "Saving Lives is a Slam Dunk" blood drive Community Blood Center is putting extra time on the clock. The deadline is now Saturday, April 2 to register to donate at any CBC blood drive or Dayton CBC Donation Center and be included in the drawing for a "Final Four" of grand prizes.

Plus, get a free Fricker's $10 gift card when you register to donate at the "Buzzer Beater" blood drive Thursday, March 31, Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 at the Dayton CBC Donation Center, 349 South Main St. You'll also be included in the Slam Dunk four-prize drawing.

Make an appointment online at or call (937) 461-3220.

When the Slam Dunk blood drive ends on April 2 CBC will draw four winners. The top prize is a big screen (70") TV, the second drawing is for a Weber grill, the third drawing is for a YETI cooler, and the final prize is a Solo Stove.

Spring has arrived with the pandemic receding and the community returning to more normal life. This means more social events, travel, and outdoor activities that distract from donating.  Don't let spring fever keep you from keeping your appointment and taking time to donate.

Type O blood remains in low supply. CBC is urging community members to donate more frequently in 2022. Set a goal to donate three times. You may also be a good candidate for donating platelets, plasma or double red cells. Call (937) 461-3220 to learn how you can help.
