How to request Convalescent Plasma (CCP) for your patients

Administration of COVID 19 convalescent plasma (CCP) must take place under an approved FDA pathway. Community Blood Center is primarily working under the National Expanded Access Treatment Protocol provided by the Mayo Clinic. https://www.uscovidplasma.org/

Physician qualification of Potential Donors for COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma

  • Physician completes the online form or prints PDF form and faxes completed form to: (937) 461-9584  "Attention Special Donations"
  • Additionally, physician may provide a copy of the completed PDF form to the donor to take with them to Community Blood Center
  • Community Blood Center will call donor to schedule a donation

Who is eligible to donate CCP?

The potential donor must have tested positive for:

  • COVID-19 infection by viral RNA nasal swab test - or -   COVID-19 antibodies by blood test.

If the potential donor tested positive by RNA nasal swab test they must be:

  • Symptom free for at least 14 days with a NEGATIVE test for COVID-19 - or -   Symptom free for at least 28 days (no negative test required).

If the potential donor tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies they must be:

  • Symptom free for 28 days.
