BOOST HOLIDAY BLOOD SUPPLY AT JULY 1-3 PARROT HEAD PARTY

June 27, 2022

DAYTON, Ohio - The July 4th holiday period is a critical time to donate blood because of fewer blood drives and the disruptions of vacation travel and holiday activities.

Help prevent a shortage by supporting the July 1-3 "Parrot Head Party" at the Dayton Community Blood Center, 349 S. Main St. Make an appointment to donate at www.DonorTime.com, call (937) 461-3220, or download the new Donor Time app.

Everyone who registers to donate Friday, July 1, Saturday, July 2, and special hours Sunday, July 3 at the Dayton CBC Donation Center will receive a free Speedway $10 gas card and the special-edition "Parrot Head Party - Lei Back and Donate Blood" t-shirt.

CBC will kick off the Parrot Head Party weekend with a Kona Ice bar for donors Friday, July 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Dayton CBC.

The Parrot Head t-shirt and gas card giveaways are only at the Dayton CBC Donation Center. CBC will be closed Monday, July 4 for Independence Day.

Everyone who registers to donate June 20 through July 3 at any CBC mobile blood drive or the Dayton CBC Donation Center will be automatically entered in the drawing to win two tickets to the July 21 Jimmy Buffett concert at Riverbend Music Center.

CBC has new online tools to help donors save time while they're helping save lives. Download the new "Donor Time App" from any app store and use it to find blood drives and make an appointment to donate.

Donors can also use "DonorXPress" to complete the donor questionnaire before they arrive for their blood donation. Find DonorXPress on the Donor Time App or at www.givingblood.org/donorxpress.

Donors using DonorXPress must complete the donation questionnaire on the day they intend to donate and bring a digital or printed copy of their Donor Pass to show at donor registration.
