FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 21, 2010
DAYTON, OH (June 21, 2010) — Register to donate blood at Community Blood Center (CBC) and be a part of Kerrigan’s Krusade for Life in honor of K99’s morning show co-host Steve Kerrigan and all those fighting cancer! Everyone who registers to donate blood at any CBC branch location or at most CBC blood drives Monday, June 21 through Saturday, July 3, will receive a FREE limited edition Blood Donor Patriot/Kerrigan’s Krusade t-shirt. K99’s Nancy Wilson will be broadcasting live in the morning on Tuesday, June 22 from CBC – Dayton, 349 South Main Street.
Summer is a challenging time for the blood supply as student donors are on break and CBC’s regular donors get busy with seasonal activities and vacations. CBC encourages you to be a summer lifesaver and donate blood!
Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors are also asked to bring their CBC donor ID card. Donors must be at least 16 years of age (16 year old donors must have parental consent: form available at www.givingblood.org or at CBC branch & blood drive locations), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically. Individuals with eligibility questions are invited to email canidonate@cbccts.org or call 1(800)388-GIVE.
