FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 10, 2010
DAYTON, OH (March 9, 2010) — Community Blood Center (CBC) is excited to debut a new variation of its logo this month, one that reflects its core mission – to provide quality blood products and services to local patients and hospitals. The new logo features a red, three dimensional blood drop with the original “life from life” corporate logo contained within the blood drop and the same font as the Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services® (CBC/CTS®) corporate logo. “Real Donors. Real Life Heroes.” is the new tagline for CBC and celebrates the heroism of area blood donors.

“We are excited to have an updated look that immediately conveys what we are all about,” stated Andrew Keelor, director of donor relations for CBC. “Community Blood Center’s mission is saving lives through the collection, manufacturing and distribution of blood and blood products. Red is the color of life!”

The corporate logo (above) for Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services® remains unchanged. Uses for the new variation will include all CBC marketing materials, donor gifts, communications relating to blood services and CBC’s online presence.
Blood Donation: Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors are also asked to bring their CBC donor ID card. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with parental consent: form available at www.givingblood.org or at CBC branch & blood drive locations), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically. Individuals with eligibility questions are invited to email canidonate@cbccts.org or call 1(800)388-GIVE. Make an appointment at www.DonorTime.com.
Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services®, an independent, not-for-profit organization, is registered to ISO 9001:2000. Community Blood Center provides blood products to 24 hospitals in the Miami (Ohio) and Whitewater (Indiana) Valleys.
