Be a “True Blood Donor” this February! Those who register to donate at most Community Blood Center (CBC) blood drives and all branch locations February 1-27 will receive a free limited edition black “True Blood Donor” t-shirt!
Blood is often in short supply during the winter months due to the holidays, travel schedules, inclement weather and illness. CBC encourages you to be a lifesaver and donate blood!
S All blood types are vital to the area’s blood supply, in particular type O-, the universal blood type
S It is essential that 400 donors a day give blood in CBC’s service area
S CBC serves 24 hospitals in 15 counties in Indiana and Ohio
S Over 40,000 local patients benefit from blood products donated by local blood donors
Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors are also asked to bring their CBC donor ID card. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with parental consent: form available at www.givingblood.org or at CBC branch & blood drive locations), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically.
